A winter wedding at Hazlewood castle- preview

With every Winter wedding I’m glued to the forecast days before willing the rain to stay away and double wishing for maybe just a sprinkling of gorgeous golden winter sunshine too.

Claire and Nick’s big day on New Years Eve started out rather damp, well thats an understatement, as the guests and I scuttled towards the church it was actually hailstones falling from the sky, keeping us huddled under our umbrellas and jumping the puddles under foot.

Claire had chosen a beautiful winter glamour theme for her wedding day, she wanted sparkles and white, crystals and soft roses. Her wedding gown was handmade, designed by Claire and  the team at Bridal apparell. I adored the lace top and sleeves, very Kate Middleton in style, and so elegant for a winter bride. She cleverly added a gorgeous fur wrap over her shoulders for the time she spent outside in the bitter winter’s air. Not only did it keep her snug, but it looked sensational too. Clever and stylish!

Most of all I swooned at the silvery Jimmy Choo heels. There are no words to describe how beautiful these are, I coveted them most of the day!

Nick wore a white tuxedo, as the dress code was black tie for ushers and groomsmen, so he wanted to be distinctive in his look too. Bridesmaids wore a soft peach champagne colour, and each had a dress made with just a personal twist for each gown to reflect each girls style.

I’m so happy to report that we did actually get some New Years Eve sunshine too, late in the afternoon, and what’s more it was one of the best sunsets for some weeks. Just goes to show hailstones in the morning does not mean a day under water !

So here are a few highlights from the big day. There are of course many more images to share, but for now this little preview should warm you up on this cold winters night. Enjoy…

Congratulations Mr and Mrs Scullion. What a fabulous day. Have a wonderful honeymoon and Happy new year!
