A review of 2013

We are almost 2 weeks into the new year, and I’ve barely had a moment to go through all my images of 2013. But now that I have, I’m so glad I found the time. The past year had so much crammed into it both professionally and personally and taking some time out to take stock, look at my progress and relive the highlights has been truly rewarding.

I wanted to chose moments, images which touch me in some way, and I as I began selecting I realised how many of these are just moments caught. How personal those shots are to the couples concerned. A tiny fraction of a second recorded for always. What an amazing thing that is.

This selection isn’t just me choosing my best images, it’s the photographs which speak to me, which mean something to those for whom they were taken and seem to have a voice. I hope you agree.

The year has taken me to London, the South east, Hampshire, all over Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cumbria and on and on. Every single wedding was a different story, and one that I am honoured to have recorded. I’ve shared so many moments with people who have become very special to me and I’m so glad to have been there. It’s also been a year where one of my brides sadly lost her life to breast cancer. Something I’d never imagined I’d see in my role.

There’ve been Jimmy Choo shoes, Claire Pettibone gowns, ice cream coloured bridesmaids and dapper grooms in 3 piece suits. We’ve shared deeply touching Father and daughter moments, cuddles for flowergirls, moments of respect for those not present, giggles in church, tear jerking speeches, kisses and smiles. dozens of confetti throws and so much laughter It’s beyond measure. What an extraordinary job I have.

Along with weddings, this was the year of launching my Boudoir shoots, The Sweet Reveal. I never imagined I’d be shooting Boudoir, until my brides started to ask me to do it for them. So for over 18 months I’ve quietly worked behind the scenes to get the shoots right. And I’m so proud of them. You’ll see some of the gorgeous images from the shoots amongst these weddings and engagement images.

Thank you to everyone who trusted me enough to work with me this past year. It’s been such a privilege. As for 2014, well I have weddings in Italy, all over the UK and more Boudoir shoots to look forward to. I’m going to be building my business further and sharing more priceless moments with people at one of the most special times in their lives. What an honour.

Thank you to everyone who has supported my business, the couples, the suppliers, my friends, and my ever forgiving and understanding friends and family. From the bottom of my heart thank you.

2014 is a year ‘ll be busier than ever but I also promise it’s a year to preserve precious family time too.

May 2014 bring everyone much happiness and fulfilment.
