A Wedding at Newton Hall

I love it when couples come to see me before they’ve even booked a date and venue. It means we share the whole wedding process together and it often means I can recommend venues to couples looking for something very specific.

When Lara contacted me about her wedding, she said she was struggling to find the perfect place, she wanted an intimate, luxurious venue which would feel exclusive but welcoming. I immediately suggested Newton Hall  in Northumberland, and I think it was love at first sight for Lara, as the couple headed north to check it out and promptly booked it.

I can’t say I blame them, this venue is utterly out of this world. It’s stylish without being showy, its elegant and unique, quirky and welcoming. I adore it and can see why couples fall for its charm and personality. It’s not quite on the beach, you need to take a few minutes car ride to get there, but its close enough to head to, and its like a little jewel hidden in the northumberland countryside. it’s your very own country manor by the sea and whats more if the weather is kind you can have an outdoor ceremony and a celebration on the nearly beach.

Lara and John had the most lovely day, even though it did drizzle for much of it. We did get a few minutes of sun, which of course we made the most of, and we did get outside to enjoy the equally stylish and impressive gardens. I loved John’s very dapper suit and bow tie choice. The chaps looked so good dressed like this.

This wedding was so happy, full of giggles and laughs, it was an absolute pleasure to be part of. The children made it for me, they were so full of fun and mischievous, and of course caused a lot of hilarity all day.

There were some rather fabulous highlights, not least John singing to his new wife during his speech, a la the McFly wedding of some months ago. I also got befriended by John’s little son, Oliver,  who was adorable and decided to take charge of one of my cameras later in the evening and had a go, you can see a few of his candids in this collection.

So here are the highlights of this beautiful wedding. Enjoy;

It’s such easy glam isn’t it? I just love the elegant and laid back feel of this whole day.

I’m so thrilled Lara and John love their photos, Lara’s least message to me said simply ” You were the best investment by far” That makes me very happy indeed.

My love and congratulations to the lovely Mr and Mrs Haynes. I wish you both every happiness for the future. It’s been a pleasure getting to know you all.
