A Linthwaite House wedding

Joe and Lynsey are two of the loveliest people I think I have ever met. Genuinely.

They are so sweet, so good together and so funny, its just a pleasure to be around them and covering their wedding was every bit as wonderful as I’d imagined.

They chose the utterly beautiful Linthwaite House for their wedding. Its a beautiful and remote luxury hotel nestled away high above Windermere. so you can imagine the rolling views and the dreamy countryside around. Its now one of my favourite venues too, just because its so wonderful and I can see how much effort goes into making a couples day perfect.

The day itself was glamorous and elegant. Lynsey looked incredible, and her bridesmaids looked sophisticated in the plum coloured gowns chosen for them. Lynseys mum had treated herself to a pair of Jimmy Choos for the big day ( well why not!) and these stole the shoe show !

Three  moments particularly stand out for me from this day. Firstly I recall chatting to Lynseys Dad during the drinks reception and asked how he felt seeing his daughter in her wedding gown. He told me he was overwhelmed, at her beauty and at how vulnerable she looked. As a parent that choked me. So touching.

Secondly during the speeches Lynseys Dad handed over her first ever baby outfit to her as a gift, still covered in baby food, and so tiny it was such a symbolic and emotional gesture.

And finally, I will always remember what Joe promised to Lynsey in his speech, because it reduced everyone including me to tears!  He told her ” I have no words to tell you how much I love you, so I’m going to spend the rest of my life showing you.” * Sigh*

So if you can still see through the tears, here are some highlights of this most beautiful of days. Indulge.
