Raindrops and chivalry- a romantic wedding preview.

Charlotte and Lloyd wanted a personal wedding, with every detail created by them, and a party to celebrate their marriage with special family and friends. And oh how hard they worked to achieve that.

This beautiful rustic wedding was absolutely gorgeous and a tribute to them both for the months of hard work and dedication to get every single last detail, right. Charlotte had chosen ” Joy” by Jenny Packham as her gown, it literally shimmered every time she moved, as the light hit all the intricate beads and sequins. Her headpiece was also by the designer and she looked incredibly beautiful.

Her two bridesmaids wore muted warm toned dresses. One was her sister, whose baby was already a week overdue, so everyone was hoping baby would stay put just a little longer so she could enjoy her sisters wedding. It did!

The couple married at Thorner Church near Wetherby and then went on to Keswick village hall, in which they had created an indoor marquee and filled it with gorgeous blooms and amazing details. More on all of that later.

We stopped off at a beautiful house on the way between locations, for photographs. It’s hard to believe these portraits aside a pontoon and little river are actually taken in someone’s back garden !

It rained, infact it rained a lot. But there’s nothing like raindrops falling from the sky to bring out the romantic in me, and given that Lloyd is such a gentleman, I decided to capture some romantic images in the showers, I think it paid off. Chivalry is alive and kicking !

So here are some of my favourites from the day, there’ll be more after the couple have seen them all. Oh and just a note to say thank you to Lloyd’s mum who saved me from almost going up in flames just as the bride made her entrance down the aisle…. wearing flared trousers, I stepped on a tealight ! – eek ! Fortunately I was alerted in time! Phew! Note to self, always look at the floor behind you before taking a step backwards ;-)

These are all absolutely beautiful Cat! You can really feel the specialness of the wedding! I love the bride’s dress, her whole look is just effortlessly beautiful. My favourite image is of them walking under the arch towards the door, just magical! Well done you xxx Margaret

How lovely Cat, you’ve really captured the essence of the day, so romantic. That shot of him protecting her from the rain with his jacket is my favourite – just lovely xXx
