Rachel and Nick’s wedding at Rockliffe Hall

There are countless reasons why I love this wedding, the couple, who are adorable, the sunshine, the venue, the gown, the colour scheme, the warmth, the parasol…..

Rachel and Nick are a stylish, wonderful couple who as soon as we met, seemed like a perfect match for me. I was right, working with them was fun and fabulous and their wedding day was absolutely beautiful.

The chose Rockliffe Hall, one of my favourite venues, and as usual it did not disappoint.

We started in the garden of Rachel’s parents, with the September sun spreading it’s gorgeously warm light across the garden and through the hanging apples of the trees….

Once Rachel was almost ready, we did a few simple and elegant boudoir style shots together. A few moments of calm and tranquility before the getting ready mayhem began…

Both Rachel and Nick arrived in style, as expected of course.

The ceremony room at Rockliffe Hall is reminiscent of a church with its arches and high ceilings, it makes a gorgeous backdrop for this formal part of the day.

And the gardens, well they are just expansive and so pretty..

As ever, I searched hard for textures and colours for some fabulous portraits and spotted this little patch of grass seed. Apparently the guests have been trying to work out where this was, infact it was just a little patch on the edge of the lawns, and it made for the most lovely little place for some intimate moments.

Rachel had brought along a beautiful parasol in case of sun, it must have brought her good luck because the sun beamed down for so much of the day, and this looked oh so pretty in the light.

Pretty details adorned the wedding breakfast tables.

The entrance to Rockliffe Hall is rather special and after dinner and speeches we quietly slipped away together for a few minutes to create some slightly more intimate portraits.

A true sleeping beauty….

and finally a shot of colour for the first dance, to a live band. A wonderful end to a  truly perfect day.

Now you see why I love this wedding so much. It really was so special.

My love to the new Mr and Mrs Rowland, thank you both for trusting me and being so fabulous to work with. The  future is exciting and bright for you both.

Thank you also to lovely Toni Darcy for once more so beautifully working by my side.

Wow, Cat. Just wow. If one blog post could define your style of wedding photography this is it. I’m sure Rachel and Nick are one delighted couple, and you are one proud photographer. Fantastic work.
