Il semble que mes bras soient devenus des ailes. An engagement shoot in Paris.

“Les rues sont des jardins, je danse sur les trottoirs…Il semble que mes bras soient devenus des ailes…Je suis l’amoureuse, je suis ton amoureuse…”

The streets are gardens, I dance on the sidewalks…It seems my arms have become wings…I am the lover, I am your lover…

This beautiful quote is from a song called  L’amoureuse The lover.

I rather thought the lyrics suited this most romantic of engagement shoots, in the City of Light- Paris.

Alice and Paul danced in the streets, relaxed in the park and strolled along the Seine all under the most glorious of skies.
Alice had wanted to channel something of that most famous of Parisian screen sirens, Brigitte Bardot, in her look and so the wonderfully talented Victoria Farr accompanied us on this trip to work her magic on hair and make up.
I also tried to bring a little of the 1960′s movie scene to some of the shots, in reverence to this most beautiful of cities. I wanted to capture the mood, the look, the smouldering.
There’s something magical in Paris, something you can’t quite put your finger on. But Paris exudes it, it courses through every street like blood running through veins. Love, romance, passion, devotion, adoration…..

What a dreamy engagement shoot and what wonderful memories for Alice and Paul. A trip to Paris, and dancing in front of strangers is something you’ll never ever forget….

I will never tire of this extraordinary city,  I could photograph Paris every day without growing bored of the scenery, the architecture and the lovers.

My love and thanks to the incredibly talented Victoria Farr for her wonderful work and for sharing the Paris experience with us.  À la prochaine!

So utterly Parisian and romantic. Love everything about this shoot, and I’m sure Alice & Paul will treasure these images for many, many years to come xo
