I’m doing it my way…Boudoir…. the Cat Hepple Way.

Boudoir…. It’s not a word I really ever associated with my brand if I’m honest.

Typical boudoir just doesn’t float my boat. And my lovely clients often will say they same. They love the idea of being braver than a typical portrait shoot, but boudoir per se is not really them either.

I’ve realised there’s a need for something in between. Something in the middle ground. So for months I’ve been working behind the scenes on developing my kind of ” not boudoir” style shoot. I lovingly call  it ” Not boudoir” because that’s often how my clients refer to what they’d like. And that always makes me giggle.

I wanted to create something softer, something more subtle. I wanted it to be more about what’s hinted at rather than what’s on show. To be about revealing femininity and not just sexuality. Not being overt, but being demure, and yet still sexy and glamorous.

So after months of figuring out what this would look like, how it would feel, what girls really want from this kind of shoot. I set to work.

The gorgeous Emily, a singer, offered to be my muse for the day. We avoided a typical bedroom scene. Instead we used a beautiful old mill. The sun came out and with the help of some amazing make up and floristry, fabulous lingerie and a wonderful team, these are the results. Emily brought a few of her own pieces, including a sun hat from- Primark- (how good does that look?!) and wonderful Sarah from Leafy Couture created the most incredible flower waterfall for us. This was something really very special. This was something I had been dreaming of for months…

Boudoir, the Cat Hepple way….

I just love the results and I know from those who’ve seen these images already, that many women love this style of boudoir too.

I’ve asked Emily to guest blog for me about this day, this shoot. I hope to have her little piece up in a while, so you can read about it from her perspective, and find out how she felt as she spent the day with us. ( She did tell me several times she’d never felt so beautiful! –  gulp! )

But, Imagine having some shots like this done ahead of your wedding and slipping a gorgeous little album of shots under your fiances pillow the night before your wedding? What a beautiful, glamorous and sophisticated little gift to give him….I hope lots of my brides to be, in fact lots of my clients generally will love this idea, and will brave enough to consider it….

My stylish, and chic boudoir shoots are currently offered at a special rate of £300 and include the shoot and a small album of images. To book simply drop me an email. cat@cathepplephotography.com

My love and sincere thanks to an amazing team who helped create the incredible looks on the shoot, you are all stars ;

My love also to No9 Bridal couture for the tea, steaming of the garments and general help with making everything perfect on the day.

    Cat these are beautiful – elegant and not a hint of tackiness which is what I associate with a lot of those ‘boudoir’ shoots. Love the image with the cascade of flowers so romantic …

    Hi Cat,

    What a lovely idea – so much softer and sweeter the normal boudoir shoots you see. I can see lots of ladies wanting something like this so will definitely put them your way. Victoria has done a lovely job on the make-up and hair too – really in style with the overall feel. Soft and sensual. Love the close up shot on the chaise longue! xx

    This is such an elegant and delicately executed shoot, very chic and tastefully done as ‘boudoir’ can be such a scary word to hear as a photography shoot style. But, this is lovely!
