Glasshouses, leaded windows and the sway of the first dance. The Marriage of Lee and Dave at Baslow Hall – Part 3

This is like turning the pages of a book I never want to end. Writing the final part of this glorious wedding is so bitter sweet. Lee and Dave’s beautiful day was so elegant I genuinely could write about it over and over again.

As we reach the final chapter, savour every little detail.

The weather was so incredibly kind to us in the mid afternoon, it meant the gardens and house were drenched in the softest sunshine and it flooded into even the darkest of corners.

There is a stunning staircase inside and with a deep stone window seat, there was somewhere beautiful and solitary for the couple to enjoy a few tender moments.

I can’t describe how much I love those shots. The leaded window, the view from inside and out and the sense of quiet romance about it all. Perfect.

They also show how 2 photographers can really help create something special. I was inside photographing, Gaz was outside. Both of us caught a very different perspective on a wonderful moment.

Then it was back out into the sublime gardens for some more shots.

The next shot is one of my favourites of the day. It was something we’d tried out on the couples engagement shoot. They both loved the photograph and Lee asked me to recreate it on their wedding day. I think it was a great call. Its without doubt one of the stand out images of the wedding for me.

There’s something so romantic about it,  it seems to express a vulnerability and sense of strength at the same time.

This next moment was caught by Gaz as I directed the couple. Lee and Dave love it. There’s an air of smouldering about it.

As the guests milled around enjoying coffee in the grounds, we caught a few images shooting into the sun. The results are too romantic for words…

I could have photographed at Baslow hall all day and still not grown tired of it. Isn’t it just the most wonderful of venues? I honestly feel I left a little piece of my heart there was we headed off to the evening venue for the couple’s party.

Over 100 guests were there to congratulate the couple and celebrate with them. it was such a lovely contrast after the intimate ceremony of earlier.

The evening event was held at Christian’s at the Beauchief in Sheffield. With a purpose built dance floor awaiting them, Lee and Dave delighted their guests with a very cute first dance.

The couple had asked us to prepare a slideshow of a few of their images from the day, so that evening guests could enjoy a glimpse of the wedding. We set this up for guests arrival and it went down a storm. The projector was still running as the couple did their first dance and it added a very unusual light, which I rather like. The effect is almost magical.

With our role in the day drawing to a close, I wanted just a couple more images to round off the day. The stone of the venue was a gorgeous golden colour and I couldn’t resist a quick portrait using it, much to Dave’s amusement.

And finally, the seal on a perfect day. Lee’s hidden message adorning the soles of her shoes seemed to sum up this most gorgeous of weddings.

It was such an honour to photograph this wonderful couple’s wedding day. I am so proud of the results and so thrilled that Lee and Dave adore their photographs. You can read their testimonial on our website.

It all seemed so perfect, the gorgeous couple so in love, and idyllic venue in a stunning setting and the most warm and caring family and friends.

Lee and Dave, Mr and Mrs Moss, you were an absolute delight (and also hilarious) to work with. Thank you for choosing us to be your photographers. We know you have a lifetime of happiness ahead and we hope you cherish every moment.

I loved your wedding. Parting is such sweet sorrow….
