A very special date – The marriage of Claire and Euan at Hollins Hall – Part 1

The 8th June was the date for the marriage of Claire and Euan. It was also the wedding date of Claire’s parents. Not only that it was the wedding date of Euan’s parents. What a coincidence. But it goes further. Both sets of parents married in the same year! Now that IS a coincidence.

When I met Claire and Euan it was clear how important family is to them both. The date was so precious it seemed unthinkable for them not to marry on that day, a wednesday.

The wonderful Adam from ARJ photography joined me as a second shooter for this wedding, and within minutes of meeting both Claire and Euan he felt he knew them. Just as I had at our first meeting.

They are such fun, so lovely and it was an absolute pleasure to photograph their big day.

Euans’ preparations were at Hollins Hall, the venue for the reception, meanwhile Claire was busy getting ready at their home a few miles away.

When we arrived with Claire, I asked her to gather her shoes, jewellery and other details for us to photograph. Suddenly she pulled the most fabulous pair of Jimmy Choos out from their box ! Gorgeous.

Lily, the couples white westie was the unofficial chief bridesmaid, and all morning she rather stole the show !

The couples home has a lovely bright conservatory and this seemed the perfect place for the final stages of preparations. Adam captured this lovely shot of the couples little son’s outfit for the day in the soft light of the conservatory.

Then it was time for the final touches, with Dad’s help too.

Meanwhile at the church, Adam joined the chaps for a few images before the ceremony.

And it was time for the bride to leave.

Just a tiny drop of drizzle fell from the skies as the beautiful bride arrived at Bingley parish church, but safely under a white umbrella on the arm of her Father, she was blissfully unaware.

The service was heart warming and lovely. And the bright turquoise colour scheme the couple had chosen seemed to work so well against the traditional stone of the building.

As the couple stepped out from the service the rain was still falling, but with perfect timing it suddenly seemed to subside, so there was time to use some of the gorgeous buildings around the church for some portrait shots.

We love vintage cars, and with the roof down on their gorgeous little number, the couple jumped in ready to head off to Hollins hall for their reception.

SO cute and such a gorgeous wedding.

My thanks go to Adam for all his help with this wedding. He worked tirelessly and was wonderful to everyone.

In part 2, the fun of the speeches and some very gorgeous evening sunlight on a golf course. I can’t wait to share !
