A wedding at Woburn Sculpture Gallery – Sophie and Steve

When I look back at these images, the gorgeous soft sunlight, the blue skies, the gentle light, its hard to believe it was February.
But early that month I was a second shooter with Jaz Ampaw Farr at this gorgeous wedding at Woburn sculpture gallery on the outskirts of Milton Keynes.

Sophie and Steve are a wonderful couple, sweet, devoted and so in love. It was absolute pleasure joining them on their special day. The sun shone brightly and they happily posed for images, relaxing in each others company, savouring the moment.

I’ve chosen some of my images from the day, the ones I just adore, and was involved in setting up, creating and capturing. These are the people shots. I also captured lots of the details of this wedding of course, but that’s for another blog post.

For now I want to focus on the couple.

This was the amazing sight which greeted me as I stepped out to capture Sophie’s arrival in the gallery.

The suns rays flooded the gallery casting beams of light across the wooden floors, making Sophie look almost angelic.

Sophie looked utterly breath  taking  anyway and I’m so glad as she was about to head down the aisle I asked her to glance back at me. This is one of my favourite images that day. She’s radiating as much happiness and warmth as the glorious sun.

Lingering at the end of the aisle, I caught the moment the couple exchanged vows and pledged their love for a lifetime.

I think their happiness was pretty easy to spot as they headed out from the ceremony too.

A little time with the bride and groom is always lovely after the ceremony, some time for them to be alone and share a private moment or two-

I spotted this wall, just out of the sunlight, and thought the light and its soft tones would be perfect for a few images of the happy couple.

Don’t they just look adorable? I love the look between them. You just know what they mean to one another.

I love this next set of images- For me, these beautiful portrait shots are the essence of my work. Intimate, beautiful, serene and touching. It’s a vital part of the Cat Hepple photography wedding experience.

They can also be huge fun, especially when there is a gust of wind.

I always enjoy a challenge and capturing all the guests outside this magnificent venue was certainly that! The staff kindly hiked a step ladder through the grounds and delivered it to me between an old oak tree and some shrubbery. I climbed up, waved my arms furiously ( shouting was pointless I felt I was miles away!) and caught this super shot.

Back to more portraits of the couple. A second set after dinner and speeches. By now everyone is so relaxed, happy and its  the perfect time for more shots of the couple. This is about creating a moment, choosing a location, setting the scene, bringing the bride and groom in and being there to record what happens.

For this set, I brought in and set up some fabulous lighting to give a real movie feel. I wanted to recreate the intimacy of Hollywood movies of the 1950′s. Sophie and Steve were only too willing to oblige.

My last 2 images for this set, are from the first dance. Dry ice, purple laser lights, and a bride signing to her groom, it was utterly beautiful in every way. The perfect end to a perfect day.

With thanks to Jaz Ampaw-Farr and much love to Sophie and Steve for their future. We wish you every happiness together.
